About the discussion

Is the world turning too fast for you? Do you yearn for a slower pace but find the odds stacked against you? In a fast-paced and over-stimulating world, we are constantly connected to our cell phones and email and given subliminal messages to buy more and do more. The pervasive culture of over-working means that it has become an act of resistance to even leave work on time and not feel guilty. Come and share your thoughts on the ways that society makes it difficult for us to live a balanced life and how resistance can counter-balance this guilt.

Guest:

British-born Minnie Richardson is a personal and professional coach whose passion is empowering individuals and groups to reach their full potential and create extraordinary lives based on their unique needs and values. Trilingual and with experience of living and working in five different countries, Minnie brings a global perspective on life and an innovative way of thinking to her work.

Moderator:

Elizabeth Hunt is a part-time bookbinder and a full-time coordinator of public conversations at Concordia’s University of the Streets Café. She enjoys that her work allows her to connect people with each other and watch ideas grow. (Too) much of Elizabeth’s free time is spent trying to figure out how language, identity, and perception intersect to create individual human beings.

In this conversation: Life-coach Minnie Richardson will share her thoughts on thriving beyond surviving in our fast-paced world.
